One of the inmates involved in a fight at the Beaumont federal prison complex Monday has died from his injuries. 35-year old Ashford Tyrell Eldridge was one of three inmates that were transported to the hospital following the brawl. He died Wednesday morning. He was serving a 77 month sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The Federal Bureau of Prisons is investigating the fight.

Names have been released from a double homicide in Galveston County and the suspect that shot and killed himself following a pursuit that ended in Beaumont. The Galveston County Sheriff’s reports 45-year old Eric Dopp, of Houston, and his 24-year old daughter, Wisdom Hall, of Pearland, were shot and killed Friday night in Gilchrist.

Two men are heading to federal prison for decades for shooting and killing a Beaumont convenience store clerk. 20-year old Keandre Marquis Robinson, of Beaumont, has been sentenced to 405 months and 28-year old Larry Nathaniel Hagan, of Houton, sentenced to 420 months after pleading guilty to the shooting death of Sheikh Hossain during the December 29, 2023 robber of the Kris Food Mart on Gulf Street in Beaumont. No cash was taken during the robbery, only cigarettes.

A Woodville man is jailed in Jasper County accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend. On Tuesday night the victim, 19-year old Kenijah Brenae Williams of Woodville, was brought to Jasper Memorial Hospital by private vehicle. She died from a gunshot wound to the head. Her 23 year old boyfriend was at the hospital and was arrested. The shooting occurred at the intersection of West Gibson and Main in Jasper.

Jasper police are investigating a homicide. A 19 year old Woodville woman died shortly atter arrival to Jasper Memorial Hospital late Monday night. She died from a gunshot wound to the head. A 23-year old man, also from Woodville, was taken into custody at the hospital. He is facing a possible homicide charge.
