Only three players remained under par. Still to come are two more rounds on an Oakmont course that ruined good scores with remarkable swiftness on a day when rounds took nearly six hours to complete.

South Dakota State extended its winning streak over in-state rival South Dakota in the head-to-head Interstate Series athletics competition by posting a 14.5-5.5 victory during the recently completed 2024-25 season. The Jackrabbits’ nine-point margin of victory matches the largest since the competition began during the 2012-13 athletics season. SDSU previously scored an 18-9 victory during the 2013-14 campaign.

SIOUX FALLS – Mitchell girls golf maintained their second place showing after day one to finish runner-up at the Class AA state tournament on Tuesday at Prairie Green Golf Course. The Kernels were 11 shots better on day two finishing at +67 (643) overall, 18 shots behind first place Aberdeen Central. Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central was the only golfer under par for the tournament shooting -4 (140) with eight birdies on Tuesday.
