It is based in Corpus Christi, Texas, and is owned by SagamoreHill Broadcasting from Augusta, Georgia. The station operates under a shared services agreement (SSA) with the E. W. Scripps Company. KZTV is a sister station to KRIS-TV, which is affiliated with NBC and CW+, and K22JA-D, a low-power station that is also affiliated with Telemundo and operates independently. Both KZTV and KRIS-TV share their studio facilities on Artesian Street in downtown Corpus Christi, while KZTV's transmission tower is situated between the towns of Petronila and Robstown.

A 79-year-old widow in Jim Wells County is counting her blessings after last week's storm destroyed her property. Gloria Carbajal owned two mobile homes on County 133 near Highway 44. At the end of Thursday's, May 8th, storm, one was flipped on its side, while the other was completely destroyed. "We've lived here almost 50 years in this house. And nothing like this had ever happened," Carbajal said. Carbajal and her daughters were out of town when the storm hit.
