Leesburg should expect traffic delays starting this weekend and city facilities to be closed from April 25-27 for Bikefest. Merchants, residents and visitors coming to the historic downtown Leesburg business district should expect some traffic delays starting this weekend as crews begin setup for the 28th Leesburg Bikefest. Most downtown streets and parking lots will remain open until Wednesday afternoon, but workers will be present throughout the area all week.

Officers responded to a woman, later identified as 32-year-old Carissa Ann Stone, in the middle of the road on U.S. Highway 27/441 and Miller Street at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. Upon arrival, the officers observed Stone sitting in the median wearing pajamas.

An Ocoee man was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle accident early Friday morning in Clermont. The 25-year-old rider of a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southbound in the outside lane of Hammock Ridge Road at 6:40 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol. As a result, the motorcycle struck the curb and began to slide on its side along the sidewalk and grass shoulder.
