A Leesburg woman was arrested for battery after allegedly trying to choke her former lover of 18 years. An officer responded to a battery at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 2:35 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Upon arrival, he met the male victim who had fresh blood and a scratch on his neck and chest area and a drop of blood on the front of his shorts. He stated he was struck by 36-year-old Tasha Joe Perry.

A Texas woman and her husband were arrested after her peculiar driving prompted a traffic stop. An officer observed a white Ford SUV traveling southbound on County Road 25a around 12:55 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. The occupants were later identified as 57-year-old Aide Cruz and her husband, 53-year-old Benjamin Hernandez Banda. The vehicle tried to make a left turn onto County Road 466A but stopped midway through.

An Apopka man was arrested for driving with a suspended license when an officer learned he was a repeat traffic offender. An officer was informed of a black BMW headed southbound on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 around 2:50 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. The registered owner, later identified as 32-year-old Talik Meshak Morgan, had a suspended license. The officer ran the vehicle’s tag to confirm the hit and conducted a traffic stop around U.S. Hwy.
