Planning Commission voted April 9 to recommend a General Plan amendment to allow 100% affordable housing projects in mixed-use commercial and restricted highway commercial zones. The Town had been considering getting rid of Screen on the Green—an outdoor movie night that has seen declining attendance—and replacing it with the multicultural event.

A Santa Clara County Superior Court jury today acquitted two men in the last case stemming from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office alleged bribery scandal over concealed gun permits. The jury couldn’t reach a verdict on a third defendant. Former Sheriff’s Capt. James Jensen and former security firm executive Thomas Moyer were found not guilty late this afternoon, and a mistrial was declared for former undersheriff Rick Sung. The trial began March 6 in San Jose.

As the laps ticked off in the girls 3200 meter race in the star-studded Dublin Distance Fiesta on March 21, Shea Elmore knew she was on pace for a fast time. She just didn’t know how fast. The Los Gatos High School senior finished fourth in 10 minutes, 41.18 seconds, smashing her previous best by a whopping 37 seconds and breaking the school record in the process. Her time ranks No. 1 in the Central Coast Section this season.
