Luverne Journal
The Luverne Journal started in Rutledge, Alabama, back in 1888. In 1890, the first newspaper in Luverne was launched, called The Luverne Enterprise. Matthew Tucker served as both the editor and publisher until October 7, 1890, when he sold the publication to Toiler Publishing Company.

The dinner theatre, a 1950s murder mystery, was held in the Luverne diner, Dips and Dogs, owned by Tim and Kathy Dowdy.
