A fan-favorite among Butler and Lowndes County residents, the two-day festival featured homemade and handcrafted delights for the young and old alongside returning attractions and a few new delights. Lowndes County’s own District Judge Adrian Johnson, joined his wife, Mandy, and daughter Harper to perform again at the fair this year.

I got through to Kit Carson, EIB’s call screener (after about 50 tries!). It was my birthday, so I hoped it would be a good ploy to get online with Maha Rushie. I also said I’d like to ask him about a book he talked of writing called “The Back Nine.”Screener Kit said they were jammed for the afternoon, but he’d call the next day.

Now the Naples, Florida man is on a pilgrimage across America, cycling from Tallahassee, Florida to Bismark North Dakota to lay Troy’s ashes to rest. He calls his journey “Trey for Troy,” preferring to keep his and his brother’s surnames out of the media.

Bryant (MJB) Scholarship have opened, offering local students the opportunity to pursue their higher-education goals after high school. Marenda Caldwell, MJB Scholarship Fund chairperson, said applications will be accepted until June 30, with winners announced by July 31.
