    DANVERS — Danvers High welcomed the best of the best for the Northeastern Conference outdoor championships last Friday. Marblehead’s girls finished third with 104.5 points – behind first-place Peabody and Masconomet – while the boys (95 points) tied for third place with Beverly. Peabody captured first place there as well, with Masconomet close behind. BOYSJacob Szalewicz won the 800m with a time of 1:55.60, while Henrik Adams clocked in at fourth in 2:01.12.

    Marblehead’s baseball team, serving as the home team but playing at Austin Prep due to field conditions last Friday, served up a 2-0 win against Bishop Fenwick. The victory punched the Magicians’ (10-10) ticket to the Division 2 state tournament. Stefan Shepard scored Aidan Downey in the first inning, while Will Quigley knocked in Shepard in the sixth.
