Emergency services have been called to help tackle a fire at a shop in Worthing. At approximately 5pm crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a report of a shop fire in Montague Street. The fire service have urged residents to avoid the area while the fire is ongoing. Councillors are calling for an ‘emergency meeting’ over plans to redevelop a social housing scheme. Drivers are being warned about a large pothole on a road in Burgess Hill. A Sussex World photographer took two photos on Monday, February 10, that show the pothole, which is almost the length of a car, on London Road. The pothole has a particularly deep section at one end that has filled with water.

Network Rail says that initial works to repair the landslip on the Brighton Main Line have been completed ahead of schedule. It says that most train services restarted this morning (February 6) and teams are working to restore the remainder on Friday by moving trains back into position.
