The Moose Lake Junior will participate in hands on learning about local and state government. Students must be a Junior and must meet certain qualifications before being chosen by the Legion. Don Bistram is retiring quietly after 45 years as the butcher behind the scenes at KJ’s Fresh Market in Moose Lake. He began working at the Holiday store at the age of 19 in 1979 after he attended a meat school. He was a constant fixture through the next four decades while the store underwent new owners and names, from Holiday, Market Place Foods and finally KJ’s. While Bistram grew up on a farm in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, he has lived in Barnum since the mid 1980s.
