National Journal
National Journal is a digital media organization located in Washington, D.C. It focuses on reporting the latest political happenings and tracking new political and policy trends. The magazine has been in circulation since 1969. It was owned by Times Mirror from 1986 until 1997, when David G. Bradley acquired it. Today, National Journal, along with The Hotline, is part of the National Journal Group, which is a branch of Atlantic Media.

President Trump played the hits when asked about a timeline to strike Iran. “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiation that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go in the next two weeks,” Trump said in a statement read by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt yesterday. The two weeks notice is a familiar refrain from the 45th and 47th president.

The thunderous opening bars of Heart’s “Barracuda” blared from the loudspeakers as M1 Abrams tanks rolled down Constitution Avenue under the approving eyes of President Trump. The power ballad seemed designed to inject some much-needed energy into the crowd of several thousand spectators dotting the hill between the Washington Monument and Trump’s viewing stand south of the Ellipse. Saturday was a hot and humid day in the District, with the mercury topping out at 84 degrees.

Following a panel hosted by the New England Council at Saint Anselm College’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics on Friday, someone asked me, “What do Democrats need to do to win in 2026 and 2028?”If I had to boil it down to one word, it would be: trust.
