A person at a baseball game who ridiculed the dead mother of the Arizona Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte has been banned by the White Sox and Major League Baseball indefinitely, the league confirmed Wednesday. Marte was in tears on the field after the person attending the White Sox home game in Chicago Tuesday made the remark, and Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo comforted him. The fan, who was not identified by MLB, made a derogatory remark about Marte's late mother, MLB.com reported.
