Nerdist

Nerdist News, which started in February 2012 and was previously known as GeekChicDaily, is the pop culture newsletter under the Nerdist brand. It was established and initially managed by Peter Levin, the former CEO of Nerdist Industries. Currently, this cross-platform publisher features two newsletters: Nerdist News and TOKYOPOP. The transformation from GeekChicDaily to Nerdist News occurred when it merged with Nerdist to create Nerdist Industries in February 2012. By late 2013, Nerdist News evolved into a web series on the "Nerdist" YouTube channel, hosted by Jessica Chobot, a former presenter from IGN Daily Fix. This series delivers the latest updates in nerdy pop culture five days a week.

As a professed horror movie junkie, I’m always chasing the dragon for the new scare fix. I want them spookies so bad I can taste it! It’s not even that I love the feeling of scared. I just want to know a movie is capable of doing it! Also the creepy shit is fun. But it turns out fans of the franchise have another reason to be excited this month. Not long after the announcement of a live-action adaptation starring the game’s cast comes news of yet another featured film.

It hasn’t been a full 28 years since 28 Days Later, but it’s getting very close. We almost can’t fully process just how influential and innovative the original movie was in 2002. Not only did it provide a jumpstart to the zombie (or zombie-like creature) genre, it gave the world fast-running hordes. Technologically, the movie’s use of handheld digital cameras proved equally as cutting edge, even if it looks quite rough by today’s standards.

Everyone knows the “E” in Chuck E. Cheese stands for “entertainment,” and this holiday season the arcade-restaurant chain is making good on its star’s name. The company has announced that it will be celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with its first-ever Chuck E. Cheese animated Christmas special. Chuck E. Cheese is partnering with HappyNest Entertainment—a joint venture between UTA and Stampede Ventures—for an original holiday special. The Chuck E.
