Variety is a weekly entertainment magazine in the United States, owned by Penske Media Corporation. It was established in 1905 by Sime Silverman in New York and initially focused on theater and vaudeville. Additionally, it includes a credits database, production charts, and a calendar, with archived material available from as far back as 1905. When the series premiered in 2017, Serena was the archconservative captor of Handmaid June (Elisabeth Moss), known in the Waterford house as Offred.

Finnish Director Lauri-Matti Parppei will follow Cannes ACID title “A Light That Never Goes Out” with “Alone With the Moon,” a magical realist coming-of-age drama. “With some horror elements,” they added. In the film, set in 2001, a strange, androgynous teenager shows up at a Finnish farmhouse. Taken in by a teenage daughter of the family, who’s fantasizing about taking her own life, the two teens develop a warm and intense relationship. But the guest might not actually be human.

István Szabó is bringing some “Sunshine” to Cannes Classics. His 1999 historical epic, starring Ralph Fiennes, Rachel Weisz, John Neville and Jennifer Ehle, followed generations of a Hungarian-Jewish family until the mid-20th century. No stranger to Cannes thanks to award-winning “Mephisto” (which also picked up an Academy Award) and “Colonel Redl,” Szabó wrote the script with Israel Horovitz.
