Variety is a weekly entertainment magazine in the United States, owned by Penske Media Corporation. It was established in 1905 by Sime Silverman in New York and initially focused on theater and vaudeville. In 1933, it expanded by launching Daily Variety in Los Angeles to specifically cover the film industry. Later, in 1998, it introduced Daily Variety Gotham, which is also based in New York. The website, Variety.com, offers free access to the latest entertainment news, reviews, box office statistics, feature articles, videos, photo galleries, and more. Additionally, it includes a credits database, production charts, and a calendar, with archived material available from as far back as 1905.
