One year ago, the Supreme Court recognized criminal immunity for the sitting president. But when it comes to the systematic expansion of executive power, Friday's ruling - which severely curtails the power of federal district courts to issue nationwide injunctions - dwarfs the immunity decision. Immunity applied narrowly to protect Donald Trump (and his successors) from criminal prosecution; that's a big deal, for sure.

Fellow prosecutors, if you ever want to piss off a judge, I recommend overstating your case during the earliest phases of the litigation. (I might or might not have done this a time or two during my early years.) Come out with a self-congratulatory bang, declare your case overwhelming and an all-but-guaranteed winner, and then enjoy your loss of credibility as it dawns on the judge that she's been hoodwinked. And if you really want to lose the judge, do your overhyping in public view.

The biggest sporting event on the planet is not the Olympics - it's not even close. It's the World Cup, specifically the men's World Cup. (While the women's World Cup has grown dramatically in the past two decades and regularly bests the men's World Cup in American television ratings, in terms of revenue and scope I'm sad to say it's also not even close.) There is no sporting event like the World Cup.
