Wildfires prompt State of Emergency extension

Gov. Josh Stein extended the State of Emergency on Saturday for 34 counties being impacted by wildfires in western North Carolina, Caldwell County being one of them. The extension will last for a period of 30 days. “I appreciate all of the first responders, emergency managers, state forest rangers, and state and local officials working hard to protect North Carolinians from wildfires,” Stein said.
