The first annual Splash Bash put on by the Granite Falls Parks and Recreation Department is just two weeks away, where Caldwell County's first splash pad will be unveiled to the community. The Splash Bash will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 2 at the William B. Shuford Recreation Center, located at 56 Pinewood Road in Granite Falls. The rain date is May 9. The event replaces the Art in the Park Festival that used to be held at the beginning of May.

The 2025 N.C. Butterfly Festival is quickly approaching and will feature around 100 vendors this year. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Central Street in Hudson. Hudson Town Manager Jonathan Greer said it's the oldest and longest running festival in Caldwell County, having been started by the Hudson Community Development Association in June 1982.

More than 200 homes and businesses in Caldwell County will be connected to high-speed internet service as part of $41 million in state funding approved for 17 counties. Gov. Josh Stein announced Tuesday that 11,816 households and businesses will benefit from the funding as part of the Completing Access to Broadband project. In Caldwell County, 203 homes and businesses will be connected to high-speed internet through Connect Holding, which operates under the name Brightspeed.
