Anduril Industries is leasing a large chunk of local warehouse space less than a mile from its Costa Mesa headquarters, pushing its total Orange County presence to roughly 1.1 million square feet. The commercial space Anduril plans to occupy spans 313,244 square feet at Lake Center Office Park in Santa Ana, according to various Orange County industrial market reports.

Wireless infrastructure provider Boldyn Networks US says it will complete 80 miles of high-speed fiber in the Greater Bay Area network by the end of June to boost internet and wireless capacity there. The Irvine-based firm provides open access networks to a wide array of sites ranging from public transit systems to airports and military bases, as well as sports and entertainment venues.

The annual Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival had become one of the premier culinary events in Orange County until the pandemic put an abrupt halt to the festival. One of the chefs who participated in the festival every year was longtime Orange County resident Jamie Gwen, a syndicated radio host, certified sommelier, seven-time cookbook author and a Food Network star (she won “Cutthroat Kitchen” and competed on “Beat Bobby Flay”).

The OC figure for March is lower than the unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.3% for California and 4.2% for the nation during the same period. Between February and March total non-farm employment in Orange County fell to 1.68 million, for a loss of 600 jobs. Construction and trade, transportation, and utilities decreased the most, losing 1,900 jobs each. Private education and health services increased by 2,100 jobs, the most of any sector.

Carrie Strom, the top official at AbbVie’s Allergan Aesthetics, recently announced her departure from the AbbVie-owned company. Since 2020, Strom has led the Irvine-based aesthetics unit of AbbVie, which acquired Allergan for $63 billion. Allergan Aesthetics’ portfolio includes leading aesthetic products such as Botox Cosmetic and Juvederm fillers. The announcement comes 14 years after Strom first joined Allergan in 2011. Strom’s replacement hasn’t yet been named.
