After Mother Nature again postponed play for the Pagosa Springs High School Pirate baseball team in Cortez on Saturday, the teams faced off Monday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Pirates, they returned home with two league losses to the Panthers. The Pirates, who now own a 7-6 record and are 0-4 in league play, are now looking ahead to a string of home games and the bigger picture as the season nears its end.

I showed up for a scheduled nuclear stress test in Durango with my entourage, my family. We travel as a family to the doctor, dentist and hospital. We have had to change as life has changed. When my Sweet Al accompanied me on this trip, he insisted on helping me into the wheelchair. Taking paint off corners and putting holes in the hospital walls, he pushed me into a corner. I couldn’t move. He wouldn’t let go of the handles. He was taking care of me.

The Pagosa Springs High School (PSHS) track and field team took part in the 15-team Ron Keller Invitational Monday in Durango after the event was rescheduled from Saturday due to inclement weather. “Yesterday was really windy, but at least it wasn’t snowing. It was a good meet with some good competition, coach Connie O’Donnell wrote in a Tuesday email to The SUN.
