    Two of the largest medical groups in the region are looking at a merger, with both sides hoping to finalize an agreement by early next year. Officials with Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould and Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis have signed a non-binding letter of intent to complete a shared mission agreement to merge the organizations, the groups said in a media release.

    LITTLE ROCK — Lawmakers on Monday honored the life of a Paragould attorney, saying he left an impact on the legal profession and in his community. The Arkansas House adopted HMR1010, sponsored by Reps. Jimmy Gazaway (R-Paragould), Jeremy Wooldridge (R-Marmaduke) and Trey Steimel (R-Pocahontas). The resolution honored attorney Roger Colbert, who passed away in February at age 67.

    PARAGOULD — It has been a busy last couple of weeks, with an increase in customers and revenues as well, the interim executive director of the NEA Regional Solid Waste Management District told board members on Tuesday. Debbie Johnson spoke with the board during the meeting at the Paragould City Hall, after being named interim director on April 4. Johnson replaced Joe Pence, who resigned last month.
