Persuasion

Persuasion

Persuasion is a platform and community for individuals who hold three key beliefs: We aim to create a society where everyone has the freedom to pursue a meaningful life, regardless of their background. We recognize the significance of persuasive dialogue and are committed to protecting free speech and open inquiry against any threats. We strive to engage and persuade those who have differing opinions, rather than resorting to mockery or trolling. In recent years, many political and intellectual movements have leaned towards illiberalism. Advocates for free speech and democratic values have often been too passive, even resigned. It's time for those who cherish these important ideals to actively defend and promote them.

After surviving an assassination attempt and winning reelection with a clear lead in the popular vote, Donald Trump was—briefly, and for the first time in his political career—seen by manypundits as incarnating the future rather than the past. In his first months back in the White House, the radicalism and vindictiveness of the administration have given jitters to a lot of independents who were key in helping him win and hardened opposition among his longtime critics.
