The scorecard summarises the results of extended reliability testing of commercially available PV modules, designed to expose any weaknesses that may show up in the field after installation. The 2025 scorecard features results from 50 module manufacturers, a slight fall from 53 included in last year’s scorecard.

    A group of researchers from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and China’s metallisation paste specialist Changzhou Fusion New Materials has identified a new failure mode in TOPCon solar modules manufactured via the so-called laser-enhanced contact optimisation (LECO) process. The process is carried out after the firing of the metallisation paste and involves scanning a laser across a crystalline silicon cell while it is under reverse bias.

    Having signed a deal to supply Australian transport and logistics giant Linfox with 30 heavy-duty electric trucks, Sweden-headquartered truck and bus maker Volvo Group has announced it will start production of electric trucks at its facility in Brisbane’s western suburbs. The order with Linfox comprises 29 Volvo FM Electric trucks and one FH Electric model.
