    Principles are needed to achieve these goals. These principles should build on successes and address historical challenges. Our team, comprised of primary care researchers and a community partner, has focused our work on understanding how primary care teams can support access and better outcomes. Collectively we propose the following five principles for the Primary Care Action Team to consider, which emerged from our panel discussion at the 2024 Trillium Primary Care Research Day on Oct. 25, 2024.

    In October, Queen’s University participates in Cybersecurity Awareness Month – an internationally-recognized campaign dedicated to creating a secure and resilient cyber environment at institutions across the globe. The campaign spans many industries globally, all with the goal of helping the public to learn more about the importance of cybersecurity and protecting their data.

    To address knowledge gaps regarding the application of canola-based bioproducts, the project will also focus on the development of a policy roadmap for the new Canadian canola bioeconomy. By working directly with The Canola Council of Canada who represent canola farmers, the researchers will analyze the financial impact associated with applying these new steps of canola meal recovery and processing. As well as assess the willingness for farmers to adopt these new eco-friendly technologies.

    A transformational gift is set to significantly advance cancer research at Queen’s. With support from Murray (Com’84) and Cara Sinclair, the university will build research capacity in an area of existing strength, establish advanced facilities, create training opportunities, and work to improve cancer care and treatments locally, nationally, and around the world. In recognition of their $25 million contribution, the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute (QCRI) will be renamed the Cara & Murray Sinclair Cancer Research Institute (SCRI).
