Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP)

Radio and Television of Portugal, known as Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP), serves as the country's public broadcasting organization. It runs four national TV channels and three national radio stations, along with various satellite and cable services. RTP was established on March 31, 2004, following the merger of two distinct entities: Radiodifusão Portuguesa (RDP), which focused on radio, and Radiotelevisão Portuguesa, dedicated to television. As a state-owned entity, RTP is financed through revenue from television advertisements, government support, and the audiovisual contribution tax, which is included in electricity bills.
