SAfm

SAfm is a South African national radio station that is part of the SABC network. Initially known as the English Service, it underwent a name change in 1985 to Radio South Africa, before finally becoming SAfm in 1995. The station was introduced as the "A" service when the SABC was created by a parliamentary act in 1936, making it the very first radio station of the Corporation. The "B" service, which broadcasts in Afrikaans, was established a year later in 1937.
