It’s a good day for “Hunger Games” fans, because publisher Scholastic and film company Lionsgate just dropped back-to-back announcements about the upcoming book and film in the franchise. Entitled “Sunrise on the Reaping,” the new book and film will take us back 24 years before the start of the first “Hunger Games” novel. It will revolve around the 50th Hunger Games, aka the Second Quarter Quell, which is said to be the deadliest bloodbath in the history of the Games.

The month-long online film festival is free—and if you missed the first leg of the festival four months ago, fret not, you can catch the same festival films and more this time around. This is the third edition of the Japanese Film Festival Online, and it’s their biggest one yet.

In 2015, Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, debuted as Day6, a Korean band under JYP Entertainment. They were not the first of their kind, but the five-piece act was unique to an idol industry filled with multi-talented icons. Instagram thrift shops have been all the rage since the big “P,” but it takes taste to keep it going. As an avid (and competitive) miner, gatekeeping is one of my guilty pleasures to make sure I get what I want. But as a writer, it’s also my duty to share excellent finds when I spot them. These shops are the real deal, in the sense that the prices aren’t as outlandish as other online thrift shops, but also because the curation and quality are out of this world.

Memento Vitae is a student-organized art exhibit that deeply entwines art and nostalgia.

Kabosu, the Japanese dog behind the popular ‘Doge’ memes passed away last Thursday after succumbing to leukemia and liver disease. Estimated to be 18 years old, the iconic Shiba Inu was adopted by Atsuko Sato from a puppy farm in 2010. This fated encounter would eventually spark a lifelong partnership between the two and give birth to a meme the whole world would come to know of and love.
