Mack Hansen was one of a record 15 Ireland players selected for the 2025 Lions tour to Australia. After the live squad announcement, the Connacht winger was video called to get his reaction. When Lions head coach, and Hansen’s Ireland boss, Andy Farrell heard the news he quipped, ‘you can’t be serious’, as a nod to Hansen’s outspoken and flamboyant personality. When host Lee McKenzie put it to Farrell that ‘you picked him’, he jokingly said that it was ‘the other coaches’.
