A pedestrian is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car on the A27. The 26-year-old local man was hit by a white VW Polo near Tangmere. Sussex Police said that the crash occurred on the westbound carriageway, close to the slip road to the A285, at around 1.20am on Sunday (November 5). A section of the road was closed for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene. The pedestrian - a 26-year-old local man - is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A dog walker was attacked by a German Shepherd on a playing field in Shoreham. Police are now appealing for witnesses who saw the incident which happened last week. Sussex Police said the woman was walking in Middle Road playing field between 10am and 10.30am on Wednesday, October 4 when her dog was bitten by the German Shepherd. The woman intervened and the German Shepherd ran away, before returning, knocking the woman over and attacking her. The woman and her dog both suffered minor injuries.

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Rottingdean. Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash which happened last Wednesday (October 4). Sussex Police said a 13-year-old boy from Saltdean was injured during the incident on Rottingdean High Street at about 4pm. He was taken to hospital and the driver of the vehicle left the area.
