Colin McNamara/Testudo Times I’ve mulled over how to start this article all weekend but haven’t quite found the right words to truly encapsulate how I feel. I’m not quite as witty as some of my predecessors, so I’ll stick to my strengths and keep it clear and concise: I am stepping down as managing editor at Testudo Times. I thought about writing this article last weekend, but elected Friday would be better suited, before further pushing it off until Monday.

He was the first undrafted Terp signed by an NFL team this year. Miller was a versatile defensive back for Maryland over the last five years, lining up as a free safety, strong safety and cornerback.

Photo courtesy of Maryland Athletics. Maryland football defensive tackle Tommy Akingbesote was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys Saturday. He was the fifth and final Terp taken Saturday at No. 247 overall. Akingbesote spent his entire four-year career at Maryland. He played in every season, but earned a full-time starting job as a senior, which led to a career-best 32 tackles (16 solo) and five tackles for loss.

Maryland football defensive back Dante Trader Jr. was selected with the 19th pick in the fifth round — No. 155 overall — of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins Saturday. He was the fourth Terp taken — third on Saturday — in this year’s draft. Trader was a consistent contributor since his freshman season and started in every game he appeared in over the last three seasons.
