In the midst of putting the finishing touches on several graduation sect ions last weekend, Sandy’s family was dealt a devastating blow. She received a phone call around 10:15 a.m., Sunday, May 18 as I was about to leave for the office telling her the body of her 23-year-old nephew had been found on property in Pierce County. His death is being investigated by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. I met Tristin Aspinwall about 16 years ago and have watched him grow and slowly mature into a young man.

NAHUNTA — Citizens of Brantley County came out for a good time to celebrate the end of another school year at the 5th Annual End of School Bash at Nahunta City Hall Saturday. There were bounce houses, water slides, a foam party as well as hot dogs, chips and drinks all on display for everyone who came out to celebrate. City Manager Tom Wirth said the City wanted to do something for the kids as they approach summer vacation. “We just wanted to do something for the children,” Wirth said.

NAHUNTA — City of Nahunta officials adopted modified fees for water/sewer services along with new permit fees and business license fees during their monthly May meeting. Mayor Pro-tem Bruce Davis made the motion to approve the new schedule of fees during the Monday, May 5 meeting. Councilman Andrew Altman seconded the motion, which was passed by a 4-0 vote. Residents with a late fee will be charged 10 percent of the bill.

Some of these projects will make you scratch your head with the backwoods ingenuity.
