If you walked into my Gateway Village apartment room on campus, you’d definitely see it in the Grant Golden jersey hanging in my closet or the Matt Grace flag hanging on the wall above my bed. The University of Richmond women’s tennis team beat cross-town rival VCU 4-2 on Thursday, April 10. Coach Jacob Dunbar said that first-year Abby Lee clenched the match for the team. The last time Richmond played VCU was when it was the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic10 tournament in 2024, a matchup the Spiders won 4-3. The team lost the doubles point in the beginning of the match. Doubles team junior Lara Bakhaya and graduate player Andrea Campodonico won 6-1 on court one.

The University of Richmond baseball team was swept by the Fordham University Rams during their March 28-30 series, despite strong offensive performances. The Spiders came into their weekend matchup against the Rams an impressive 21-4 record, with quality wins against the University of Virginia, North Carolina State University, and a win earlier in the week at James Madison University, while holding a 4-2 record in the Atlantic 10.
