The Daily Galaxy

In 2020, The Daily Galaxy was purchased by the investment company Whitefish Ventures. This website was established in 2007 by Val Landi, a pioneer in technology news from Silicon Valley. Before starting dailygalaxy.com, he worked as the head of Electronic Media for Computerworld and was the founding publisher of Computerworld Online, which was one of the earliest news websites on the internet. In the year 2000, Val was part of the startup team at Looksmart Internet search, where he helped launch Redband Broadcasting. This project was a collaboration between Sony, Vantage Point, Expedia, Public Radio International, and the Sundance Film Festival. However, Redband shut down in 2002 due to the economic downturn following the events of September 11. Val holds a Master’s Degree in the history of science from Harvard University, which he earned in 1991.
