The City Journal Newspapers originated from the Valley Journals, launching with the South Valley Journal in 1991. Fast forward 29 years, and they now publish fourteen community newspapers that cater to fifteen cities in Salt Lake County, along with the Davis Journal.

SALT LAKE CITY—Former Congressman Chris Stewart has been appointed as chair of the Utah Aerospace and Defense Association. The organization “promotes and advocates for companies that are developing the next generation of aerospace and defense technology.”Stewart resigned from Congress last month citing his wife’s health. While in office, he served on the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Appropriations Committee. “It’s going to be fun,” said Stewart.

LAYTON—When Kristie Nelson got the news in May that she had breast cancer her first thought was what the future would hold for her and her children. Nelson didn’t want to tell them until she had all the information so she was mostly on her own through the process for the first one or two months. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and physicians and patients are encouraging women to take the steps necessary to prevent the disease. “In the beginning it was really hard,” Nelson said.
