    PLAISTOW — The Timberlane Regional School Board has voted to eliminate 37 positions across the district in an effort to align costs with the $81.9 million budget passed at Town Meeting last month.     DERRY — A 69-year-old Derry man was arrested on April 4 and charged with six counts relating to child sexual abuse images, which are felonies. Derry police began their investigation into Dale Stancik of Briarwood St. in March. On April 1, they executed a search warrant of Stancik’s home and seized several electronic devices. On April 4, police obtained an arrest warrant for Stancik, who turned himself in at the Derry Police Department a short time later.

    PLAISTOW — Beginning April 21, Timberlane Regional High School will host a series of mental-health focused community events and programs to promote general wellness in high school students. Though some of the events are geared specifically toward students, most are open to the public. “This is a way to get people together around fun, healthy, good activities and focusing on the community and people’s well being,” said Principal John Vaccarezza.

    Scott King’s basketball coaching seed was planted in a fairly obscure spot, the outdoor courts at Hood Park in Derry. “I was five years old, going to coach (Tony) Carnovale’s free camp, and I think I probably knew then what I wanted to do,” laughed King, now 33. Somewhere, the outspoken Carnovale, a Pinkerton Academy hoop-coaching legend who passed away in 2014, is beaming with pride.
