    LONDONDERRY — It’s now an official sport that challenges the mind while offering students a way to win top honors through their gaming talents. Londonderry High School students won state titles in e-gaming competitions in the fall and again this spring, a program put in place through the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association, offering schools around the state opportunities to show off their mastery of the gaming craft.

    It was a day to celebrate creativity as the Londonderry Arts Council hosted its Arts Cafe on Saturday, April 12 at the Londonderry Senior Center. Artists and musicians gathered from all over the region to put their works and talents in the spotlight during the daylong event. Artists displayed their paintings, drawings, crafts and other works as visitors stopped by the center to enjoy the art and listen to some songs provided by area musicians taking the senior center stage.

    DERRY — The town has rescinded the license of a local massage/spa business, citing false information on a licensing application and other issues that are against town rules and codes. At a Saturday morning meeting on April 5, town councilors unanimously voted to uphold a decision to close the operation of Yung Cui and her Orange Orange business at 37 Crystal Ave., Unit 8.

    Derry town councilors are continuing to hear details of a proposed fiscal year 2026 spending plan, with municipal department presentations underway leading up to a final approval of the numbers next month. Town Administrator David Caron presented his proposed fiscal year 2026 budget overview to the council at a meeting April 1, with department heads then scheduled to present their own budget requests and details to the council leading up to the final approval.

And it’s not too early to be thinking about next year’s election and how to attract a bigger turnout of residents to make those decisions. That’s what town officials are pondering as they look back over the recent town/school election on March 11, while hoping to find ways to bring in more voters to the polls.
