As you can guess, Houston couldn’t hang in a 140-109 defeat, but there were some good things. First, Cam Whitmore went off for 34 points on 13-for-19 shooting, including 7-for-12 from deep.

Head coach Ime Udoka rested most of the starting lineup, and though some of the bench guys, including rookie Reed Sheppard, played well, the Rockets fell to the Los Angeles Clippers, who are still fighting for seeding and played a full lineup, 134-117. Sheppard put up 20 points for the Rockets on 7-for-14 from the field and 6-for-10 deep.

The Dubs have won five straight games, including the last three games coming against teams ahead of them (at the time) in the standings. That streak continues tonight when they take on another team ahead of them, the 2 seed Houston Rockets. The Warriors have already wrapped up the season series tiebreaker against Houston. They would need to win out and would need to see the Rockets lose out to catch them in the standings.
