Prior to his commitment, Kentucky was also looking at Kansas Jayhawks transfer Rylan Griffen and was set to host him for a visit on Tuesday. On Monday, Pitino and St. John’s landed a pledge from North Carolina Tar Heels shooting guard Ian Jackson. 247 Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer broke the news first. A consensus top-10 recruit in the class of 2024, Jackson was one of Kentucky’s biggest targets in the class when John Calipari was in town, but the Tar Heels came out on top.
