The Historic Fayette Theater in Fayetteville will offer a production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes: The Musical” beginning on Friday, March 28. The one-act musical is about “an emperor so vain that he loses sight of what’s really important,” according to director Sharon Bibb. The interpretation of the Pioneer Drama show will bow at 7 p.m. on March 28 and will conclude on Sunday, April 13 with a 2 p.m. matinee.

The inexorable march to Bridge Day 2025 continues. This year’s Bridge Day is scheduled in Fayette County on Saturday, Oct. 18. While a variety of behind-the-scenes preparations has been ongoing since late last fall to clear the launch for the 2025 event, the first meeting of the Bridge Day Commission (BDC) for 2025 was held on Wednesday, March 19 at Fayetteville Town Hall. The commission is mandated by the West Virginia Legislature to supervise the activities of the annual festival.

The Fayette County Board of Education will stage a meeting for the Local School Improvement Councils of Oak Hill high and middle school on March 18. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at Oak Hill High School, with the middle school presentation scheduled first. The oral presentations for the schools will feature areas such as what the school is doing to address academic achievement.
