The Exeter Sun made its debut in November 1901, originating from a small frame structure on Pine Street. This building once housed the Valley Electric Company in 1951. In the front of this building, F.G. Griggs, fondly called "Grandpa Griggs" by the community, operated a shoe repair shop. In 1975, this block was demolished, and it is now the location of the Bank of America.
