The Maine Public
The Maine Public Broadcasting Network, often referred to as MPBN and branded as Maine Public, is a network of public television and radio stations serving the state of Maine in the U.S. It is managed by the Maine Public Broadcasting Corporation, which is responsible for the licenses of all Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR) stations in the state. MPBN has its studios and offices located in Portland, Lewiston, and Bangor.

In his day, acclaimed artist Joseph Fiore was known for abstract compositions as well as realistic landscapes, but today he’s not as well known as many of his contemporaries. Fiore spent summers in Jefferson during the 1950s and ‘60s and drew inspiration from Maine. To mark 100 years since Fiore’s birth, the Maine Art Gallery and Maine Farmland Trust are holding a retrospective of his work. And a film about Fiore's life and legacy will air on Maine Public Television.

The Legislature's budget-writing committee is recommending ending Maine's free community college program after this year's class of graduating high school seniors. Earlier this year, Democratic Gov. Janet Mills had proposed making permanent Maine's program of allowing recent high school grads to take up to two years of community college for free. But Democrats on the Legislature's Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee budget-writing voted late last week to wind down the popular program.
