The fall of Saigon marks when the North Vietnamese Army captured the capital city, Saigon, and ended the Vietnam War. The country became ratified under communist rule, which led to a refugee crisis as people tried to escape the new regime.

    In 2002, the Residential Assistant and Peer Mentor Union (RAPMU) at the University of Massachusetts was established, the first complete undergraduate RA Union ever formed. Twenty-three years later, the RAPMU is still active with over 450 active members. Residential Assistants (RA) and Peer Mentors (PM) are essential to residential life at UMass, living full-time in the dorms and assisting students with anything they need.

    The Massachusetts football team took the field for its first spring game under new head coach Joe Harasymiak on Saturday. Players were split up between maroon jerseys and white jerseys, evenly divided to create the best competition possible. After making 16 additions to the defensive side of the ball and four special teamers in the offseason, Saturday marked the first opportunity for the new players to play together in a game-like scenario.

    The Massachusetts men's basketball team's leading scorer, Rahsool Diggins, has entered the transfer portal. After 87 games with the Minutemen, the senior will likely be looking for a new home for the 2025-26 season. Although Diggins has technically used all four years of his collegiate eligibility, he is waiting to see if he can get a waiver from the NCAA approved to play another year. If that extra year is granted, it appears he won't be suiting up for UMass.

    On April 10, over 200 people gathered outside the University of Massachusetts Amherst Student Union to protest during day four of Students for Justice in Palestine's (SJP) Israeli Apartheid Week. "If you're standing in front of us here today, it's because you're willing to listen, listen to one another, listen and build community, listen and build a better future," Tatiana Rodriguez, chairperson of the Palestine solidarity caucus, said.
