It was a quick turnaround for Madisonville City Council, as the governing body approved first reading of the 2025-26 budget on May 5 and passed the budget ordinance into law just a week later in a special called meeting Monday. The city will begin operating under the new spending measure on July 1. The special session also replaced the regularly scheduled meeting for the third Monday of the month. The total estimate for the spending plan comes in at $40.2 million.
