On two nights, and two nights only, every little young’un that went to the drive picture showing in Troy would get a baby Easter chick to take home, to keep. That was more than I could stand. A baby chick of my my own.

Brundidge Police Officer Kenneth Duncan never got to work with Davennport as a member of the Brundidge Police Department but did work with him through the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. “Moses Davenport was a longtime and dedicated community servant,” Duncan said.

Now, the Needmore resident serves as a servant of the Lord and a longtime supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. “Oh, she’s the one who paints angels,” many will say. After retiring as circuit clerk, Peacock did start paint painting angels with all the dollars and dimes raised going to St. Jude’s in support of the research to find a cure for childhood cancer.

The scholarship recipients will be announced at the club’s meeting on Wednesday, April, 30 at the historic Bass House in downtown Brundidge. Rotarian Don Dickert said this year will be the 32 year the club has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors at local high schools.

    Published 4:58 pm Thursday, April 17, 2025 For the third year, the International Art Center will join the Johnson Center for the Arts at TroyFest to host a huge CommUNITY pARTy for the extended City of Troy. “There will be numerous activities at a painting station hosted by Troy University’s International Art Center and the Johnson Center for the Arts.Together, they are providing ArtPlay, TheatrePlay, chalk art and bubbles and face painting,” said Carrie Jaxon, ICA director and curator IAC.
