A Town Creek woman was arrested Friday in Morgan County on a charge of trafficking methamphetamine and five failure to appear warrants, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. Wendy Leann Word, 44, was charged with a grand jury warrant for trafficking methamphetamine and for failure to appear on charges of possession of controlled substances, fraudulent use of a credit or debit card, and unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.

A former probation officer in Decatur and foster mom charged last year with child abuse in Morgan County faces new charges in Lawrence County for allegedly forcing a girl to sleep naked in a kennel with dogs, according to an indictment filed Tuesday.
