A man apparently having a hard time getting over a break up has been charged with stalking in Sweetwater. On April 8, Sweetwater Police Officer Jarren Turpeinen said he went to a home on McCaslin Avenue and talked to a woman who said she’d been receiving threatening messages from a Ricky Dotson, a man she’d once had a relationship with. kAm%FCA6:?6? Woman yells at cars, takes anger out on mail

A woman who was reportedly yelling and cursing at passing cars April 17 also allegedly destroyed some mail. Sweetwater Police Officer Jordan Moore said he was told by an off duty office that an Amanda Jo Steele was yelling at cars and needed to be checked out. Newport Speedway set for official opening Saturday night

NEWPORT — Since purchasing Newport Speedway last April, track owner Chuck Ward has been looking forward to the track’s official grand re-opening. This week, that re-opening has taken place in two parts. First was the ribbon cutting on Tuesday, as Ward smiled for photos next to the previous track owners, as well as track workers and various officials from the City of Newport and the Cocke County Partnership.
