Due to the damage on Tomboy Road, Imogene Pass will be inaccessible this summer from the Telluride side, but repair projects are in the works. An exhibit by Telluride artist Rebecca Messier gives new meaning to the expression works on paper: These are works not merely on, but deftly, meticulously, woven into paper. One of Colorado’s most scenic – and popular – trails will close for the summer as part of a multi-step program to ensure the long-term sustainability of its natural resources. The Blue Lakes trailhead, located about 12 miles southwest of Ridgway, will close June 2, according to a statement from the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests (GMUG). The closure is expected to last through August, or until it is safe to access the area.
