San Miguel County residents will soon have a new way to save lives, thanks to a free naloxone kiosk being installed in the Town of Norwood later this month. The machine, which looks like a newspaper box, will be the first of its kind in San Miguel County. It is being installed in Norwood’s Pocket Park on Grand Avenue and will give people 24/7 free access to naloxone (also known by the commercial name Narcan), a nasal spray that reverses opioid overdoses.

Green grants program will benefit businesses and homeowners

The Town of Norwood is looking forward to the launch of San Miguel County’s green grants program. Sara Owens, administrative director for the Town of Norwood, sees the program as being hugely beneficial to residents and businesses. “We need help down here in Norwood,” she told the Norwood Post on Thursday.
