The Shorthorn

The Shorthorn serves as the student-operated newspaper for The University of Texas at Arlington. Established in 1919, we have been sharing news for over a century and launched our online presence in 1997. Amid the many changes on campus, The Shorthorn has stood the test of time as one of the oldest traditions, second only to the Sam Houston Rifles drill team. We shifted to a daily publication in 1977 after previously being released biweekly and weekly. In the fall of 2012, we embraced a digital-first approach, offering news online every day and releasing a print edition weekly on Wednesdays. Additionally, we provide a daily email newsletter that highlights new content available on our website.
