Porter chose the Tigers over Arizona State, Ole Miss, and others. Porter led MTSU in points per game (15.0), three-pointers made (84), free-throw percentage (82.2%), and minutes per game (33.8) and has one year of eligibility remaining.

A longtime member of Clemson’s football staff is retiring at the end of the 2025 season. As first reported by Larry Williams of Tiger Illustrated this morning, strength and conditioning coach Joey Batson will retire after next football season, and a team spokesman confirmed that Batson told the team last week. Redshirt junior walk-on safety Caleb Nix has entered the transfer portal. Nix saw action in 10 games over three seasons and got in on one assisted tackle in 2023 versus Florida Atlantic. The brother of Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix, he earned all-state honors and All-Area Player of the Year in helping the Central (Al.) Red Devils to a 13-1 record and Class 7A state title game berth as a senior quarterback. He accounted for 5,415 total yds and 67 TDs during his prep career.

In his 2025 debut start, Spencer Strider made some more history. Coming off of elbow surgery that ended his 2024 season early, Strider showed off some of his usual dominating stuff in Toronto on Wednesday. With his fifth strikeout in 4+ innings, Strider became the fastest Major League Baseball primary starter to 500 career strikeouts (in 334 career innings).
