When she hit the ball, Kylee Johnson did not think she got all of it. As it turned out, she was wrong. Johnson got all of the softball and then some, as she carried it out of Harrington Village with ease. As a result, the two-run dinger to centerfield was all Clemson needed to win its first ACC Tournament Championship. Despite giving up two earned runs in Friday’s series-opening win over Duke, the most he’s allowed in any appearance all season, Garris has been one of Clemson’s most dependable relievers. The hard-throwing right-hander came into Friday sporting a minuscule ERA of 0.69 with 29 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched.

CLEMSON — Earlier on Friday, Clemson shortstop Andrew Ciufo earned a graduate degree in athletic leadership. That night he led the ninth-ranked Tigers to a 9-7 victory over Duke in a key ACC matchup for both schools. With his new degree in hand, Ciufo went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning that sealed the Tigers’ victory at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
